IDX Gala Dinner 2015

in aid of Futures for Kids
10 June 2015 10:30pm BST
The Artillery Gardens at the HAC

The IDX Gala Dinner welcomed 600 guests in support of Futures for Kids, a record number for this event, which is now in its eighth year. More than £140,000 was raised through sponsorship, table sales, live and silent auctions and a raffle. Futures for Kids provides a fundraising vehicle through which the listed and cleared derivatives industry can raise money to benefit charities working to improve the lives of children around the world. To date, FFK has raised over £2 million which has been distributed among the selected charities. Memorable moments from the evening included FIA’s Simon Puleston Jones passing the sporran to FIA’s Bill Herder – the now recognised symbol for taking on the kilt challenge. Michael Dawley and Paul Davies, both of Goldman Sachs, got into a bidding war for a bar of Toblerone chocolate in honour of Kim Taylor of CME Group. The former won with a staggering bid of £5,000 and not to be completely out done Davies added an extra £2,000 to the pot. Many thanks to all the sponsors, supporters and friends of FFK who helped make the dinner such a successful fundraiser and a terrific evening!
